As the outside CPA firm for PSM Corporation and its affiliates, our firm, and myself in particular, have interacted with Patricia Downing on accounting matters since 1995.
At the time of her hiring Patricia was under the immediate supervision of the corporate controller. When the controller quit suddenly in 1997, a replacement was not hired, partly due to the confidence which both t he owner of PSM and myself had in the accounting abilities exhibited by Patricia.
Patricia is an extremely hard and dedicated worker. Our firm prepared annual “reviewed” financial statements. As part of that process we send out a lengthy list of accounts which need to be scheduled, plus various questions regarding systems changes and other internal matters which need to be answered. Without exception, Patricia had the required schedules completed in a timely manner with proper reconciliations to the general ledger.
During her employment at PSM, Patricia was exposed to virtually all of the accounting aspects of a manufacturing entity. This included preparation of monthly financial statements, extensive accounts receivable and accounts payable activity and payroll and the related tax reports for upwards of 100 employees. She maintained meticulous fixed asset and depreciation records and was involved in the maintenance of the perpetual inventory, including the annual physical count and costing, which included the application of manufacturing overhead, and the resolution of discrepancies. She was involved in the selection process and transition to a new manufacturing software program, as well as the daily banking functions and administration of the insurance, fringe benefit and retirement plan programs.
Patricia continuously demonstrated the ability to take instruction very well and seemed capable of undertaking multiple tasks simultaneously while completing them on a timely basis.
